Sailing
Silver Lake provides a great opportunity to sail at Snow Mountain Camp. Qualified instruction in Hobie Cat sailing is offered right at our waterfront. The calm winds in the morning are great for teaching and learning and when campers are comfortable they are able to challenge themselves in the stronger afternoon winds.
Kayaking and Canoeing
The mornings are a great time to get out on the calm waters and explore the beauty of Silver Lake by kayak or canoe.
We teach campers many skills including paddling, capsizing and rescuing their fellow kayak and canoers.

They are given instruction on proper skills and technique and then have the opportunity to partake in games that include 2 on 1 duels, Three Musketeers, and King of the Hill. Campers wear proper protection including professional mask, body suit, glove and rubber-tipped foil.

Campers in Training (CIT) program
As our campers grow and develop summer after summer, we have found that our teenagers are ready from more out of their camp experience. Our CIT program provides an opportunity to go above and beyond the regular camp activities to explore and develop leadership qualities. Participants must be at least 15 years of age, or entering the 10th grade. Meetings take place at night and explore such topics as self-esteem, responsibility, diversity, and leadership styles.
CIT's participate in a whitewater rafting trip, a special backpack overnight trip, help plan evening activities and mentor our youngest campers.

Basic scientific exploration and experiments.
Newspaper
Newspaper is the the perfect activity for a budding journalist, curious reporter or creative writer. The camp newspaper is typically more hilarious than informative and is posted daily in the center of camp.
Snow Mountain Camp Radio
New to camp in 2007, Snow Mountain Camp Radio allows campers to create and perform their own radio program. Campers have their choice of format including music or talk radio. It is common to learn about daily horoscopes, celebrity gossip, and listen to Top 40 songs on Snow Mountain Camp's very own station. The station is broadcast on radios located outside of the studio in order for other campers to hear.
Guitar
Watching our counselors play guitar each night at campfire always inspires campers to want to play themselves. Our Guitar class provides instruction and equipment for all levels of ability.
